Your domain and getting found

Both pages are tabs of Online presence, under Guests & marketing: "Custom domain" and "Get found". Both need access to Settings.

Add your domain

Open Custom domain, type an address you own, such as order.yourrestaurant.com, and press "Add domain". The page then shows two DNS records, each with a Type, a Name and a Value. Create both at your DNS provider and copy them whole. For a bare domain such as yourrestaurant.com, use your provider's ALIAS or flattened CNAME record in place of the CNAME.

Wait for it to go live

The status reads "Waiting for DNS". Press "Check now" or just leave it: we check every ten minutes for a week. DNS changes can take up to an hour to appear. When the status reads "Live", guests can use your domain, and its security certificate is issued on the first visit. "Remove" stops serving your pages there; they stay at the platform address.

Get found

"Get found" lists your public links, each with a "Copy" button, grouped by where you paste them. For Google Business Profile you get the menu, order ahead, reservations and website links, pasted in Edit profile. For Instagram you get the link in bio. For Facebook, edit the action button and choose Order food or Book now. "Other pages" holds the waitlist, gift cards and loyalty. Only pages you have switched on appear, and nothing shows until your pages are live.

Sitemap

Copy the sitemap address and submit it in Google Search Console so your pages are found sooner. Once your domain is live, every link and the sitemap use it. Without one, "Connect a domain" takes you back to the first page.
