Find your way around
The back office follows the product. The menu holds Home, six groups, then Modules and Settings. On a phone, the same menu opens from More.
The six groups
- Orders & payments: Orders, POS, Till, Kitchen display, Delivery and Payments, and Channels once catering, group orders, surplus bags or the shop is on.
- Bookings & floor: Reservations and Floor & QR, and for a hotel the Front desk and Rooms & stays.
- Menu & stock: Menus, Promotions and Inventory, and the Supplier marketplace and Sustainability when you use them.
- Guests & marketing: Guests, Loyalty, Gift cards, Campaigns & reviews, Online presence and the Inbox.
- Team: Team, Rota & time, Pay and Checklists, and Training once it is on.
- Reports & money: Reports and Ask your numbers, and the Month-end close, Capital and Franchise where they apply.
You only see what your plan, your role and your venue use. A group with nothing in it for you is left out.
Tabs inside a page
Pages that belong together share one link, with tabs at the top of the page. Reservations has Bookings, Waitlist, Event enquiries, Ticket check-in, Setup and Experiences. Inventory has Stock, Purchase orders, Counts, Transfers, Invoices and Waste. Each tab keeps its own address, so a saved link still opens the same screen.
Modules
Modules lists everything BookNDish does and where each part stands for your venue. Switch optional tools on there, and take what you do not use out of the menu. The switches that used to sit in Settings under Guest revenue, Operations tools and Back-office money are tabs of Modules now. The Modules guide explains each state.
Settings
Settings holds what you set up once, in five groups: Business, Orders and payments, Devices and messages, Connections, and Account. Some cards moved to the page they belong to: tables to Floor & QR, the team to Team, the booking rules to the Setup tab of Reservations, and the website and custom domain to Online presence.
Home and your own pages
Home opens on what your role needs first, as the Home guide explains. The old Today page is part of Home now, and its phone alerts are under Settings, Messages and alerts. My shifts, My training and My pay are in the menu under your name.
Search
Press Ctrl K, or Cmd K on a Mac, or the Search button at the top. It finds pages, modules, actions such as "Take a booking", your dishes, orders and guests, and the help guides. Old names still work: type "Today", "Operations tools" or "Back-office money" and it offers the page where that lives now.
A page your plan does not include
A page your plan does not include says what it is and which plan has it. Owners can compare plans from there; the rest of the team is asked to check with the owner.
