Home and alerts on your phone

Home is the first link in the menu. It opens on what your role needs first, and works on a phone as well as at a desk. The old Today page is part of Home now, and its address opens Home.

What Home shows

• Owners see the setup guide, "Finish setting up", until the venue is ready. Below it come four figures for today, Net sales, Orders, Average ticket and Labour, each against the same time last week; "Needs attention" beside "Live service"; today's orders; and up to two "Suggested modules".
• Managers see the same day, with "Who's on now" in place of the setup guide. The money figures show only to people who may read the reports.
• The team sees "Your shift" with the clock and the next shift, "Your screens" for the POS, the kitchen display, reservations and today's checklists, and the live service.
• Bookkeepers see "Yesterday's close", net sales this month, whether the month-end is closed, and the latest posting to your accounting software.

"Live service" counts open orders, tables seated, bookings today and in the next two hours, the waitlist, tickets in the kitchen and the open till. "Needs attention" lists what is waiting on you, such as missed clock-outs, ingredients below par, lines voided or unhappy reviews, and each line opens the page that deals with it. Other periods than today live in Reports.

The setup guide has a Hide button. A Setup button in the header then shows how far you are and brings it back.

Alerts on this phone

The alerts are under Settings, Messages and alerts. Open that page on your phone and press "Get alerts on this phone", then allow notifications when the browser asks. On an iPhone, add the page to your Home Screen first (Share, then Add to Home Screen) and open it from there. Under "Send me", tick what you want: an unhappy review, a voided dish, a refund, a till that does not balance, a kitchen ticket late at the pass, or no online orders for 2 hours while you are open. "Stop alerts on this phone" turns them off, and "Your other devices" lists the other phones, each with Remove.

Alert thresholds

Owners and managers see "Alert thresholds" on the same page, and they apply to the whole restaurant. Set "Voided dish from", "Refund from" and "Till difference from", and press Save. 0 means every one.

Home as an app

People who read the reports can install Home as an app: open Help on Home and follow "Install Home as an app". An app installed from the old Today page now opens on Home.
