Importing your data

Under Settings, then "Bring your data", three tabs move what you already have into BookNDish, so you do not retype it. The setup wizard's menu step and the menu import page link here too.

Menu spreadsheet

Upload a CSV, which can be an Excel file saved as CSV. It can come from Square, Toast, Lightspeed K-Series or Uber Eats Manager, or be any spreadsheet with category, name and price columns. The layout is recognised from the column names, and you can pick it yourself. A preview lists new dishes, changed prices and unchanged rows before anything is written. Press "Import" to write it.

Guest list

Upload a CSV from TheFork, OpenTable, SevenRooms, Zenchef or a generic file. It needs a marketing consent column. Any row without proof of consent is imported as not consenting, so you never message someone who did not agree. A guest already on file is merged by email or phone instead of being duplicated.

Gift cards

Give each card's code, balance and expiry date. The balance is written as one "Imported" entry in the card's history, and guests keep using their old code.

Large files and failed rows

Files of up to 10,000 rows run in the background, so you can leave the page. When the import finishes, the page shows how many rows were imported and offers a CSV of the rows that failed, each with the reason. Fix those rows in the file and upload only them.

Try it with sample data

On a brand-new account, "Explore with sample data" on Home fills a sample branch with orders, bookings and guests. The banner's "Remove" deletes all of it in one click.
