Menu and photos

The menu is built under Menus in the admin. A menu holds categories, a category holds items, and an item can carry variants, a photo, dietary notes and its own tax rule.

Building by hand

Press "Create menu" and give it a name. Inside it, "Add category" creates a section such as starters or grills. Each category takes items with a name and a price. Prices are entered in cents, so 12.500 TND is typed as 12500.

Open an item to edit the rest. Names and descriptions have one field per language your restaurant supports, so a guest reading in Arabic sees the Arabic name. Variants let one dish carry several prices, for example a small and a large; one of them is marked as the default.

Importing from a photo

If your menu is already printed, use "Import from a photo" on the Menus page. It accepts JPG, PNG, WebP or PDF up to 20 MB. The items, prices and categories found in the file appear in a preview called "What we found". Correct what needs correcting, then confirm to create the categories and items. Nothing is written to the menu until you confirm.

Photos

Each item has a photo area: drop a file on it or click to choose one. Photos are shown on the guest menu, so use a picture of the dish as it leaves your kitchen, in landscape, and avoid stock images.

Dietary notes, visibility and tax

Under "Dietary and allergens", tick the allergens the dish contains and confirm that you have checked it. Under "Visibility", "Available to order" takes a dish off sale without deleting it, and "Show on online menu" keeps a dish for the till only. "When it can be ordered" limits a dish to certain hours or days, for a lunch offer or a weekend special.

The "Tax" section picks the VAT profile for each way the dish is consumed: dine in, takeaway and delivery can each carry a different rate. Tax profiles are created under Settings, Tax.

Modifiers

Options such as sauces or cooking degree live under Modifiers. A modifier group has a name, a minimum and a maximum number of choices, and options with their own price. Attach the group to an item and guests are asked when they order.
