Modules
Modules sits near the foot of the menu, above Settings. It lists every part of BookNDish, grouped like the menu, and says where each one stands for this venue. People who may change the settings can switch modules on and off.
What each state means
- Always on: part of every venue, such as Orders, Menus and Guests. There is no switch.
- On: in your plan and in your menu. Open goes to its page, and Settings to its setup where it has one.
- Off: in your plan, but switched off or out of the menu. Its switch acts at once, with nothing to save.
- Needs setup: another step comes first. Surplus bags, for example, are paid ahead by card, so the card shows Connect payments until card payments are set up.
- Needs a plan: your plan does not include it. The card names the plan that does, and "See what" that plan adds opens the plan comparison. Managers are asked to check with the owner.
- Not for this venue: it follows what the venue is or where it is, like the hotel pages, or fiscal registers in the countries that have them. These are folded away at the foot of the page. A hotel can say so from the hotel card.
The filters show All, On, Off or Needs a plan, and the search finds a module by its name, including the old names of pages.
Taking a module out of the menu
A module most venues use, such as Delivery, Gift cards or Reservations, has the switch Show in the menu. Switching it off asks first, then takes its links out of the menu and out of the page tabs for everyone at this venue. Nothing is deleted, its pages still open from a saved link, and your plan does not change. Switch it back on at any time.
Turning optional tools on
Optional tools such as Training, Payroll, the Month-end close, Capital and Surplus bags start off. Their switch is On for this venue. Turning one off closes its pages for the team until you turn it back on, and nothing is deleted. A module whose parts have switches of their own lists them under Also in this module.
The Guest revenue, Operations tools and Back-office money tabs hold the same switches next to their settings, such as how long a sensor alert waits before it goes to a manager.
What a new venue starts with
A venue created now starts with the modules that suit its type. A café starts without the kitchen display, delivery, reservations, events and multi-location; a bar without the kitchen display, delivery and multi-location; a restaurant without multi-location; a hotel without delivery and loyalty. Anything left out is one switch away. Venues that existed before keep their menu exactly as it was.
Suggested for you lists optional tools that venues like yours use, and Home shows up to two of them.
