Refer a friend

Referrals are a tab of Loyalty, under Guests & marketing.

Switch it on

Tick "Referrals are on". Guests then find their personal link on their loyalty card and in their account. A friend who orders through that link gets a welcome offer on a first order, and the guest who invited them is thanked once that order is completed.

The friend's welcome offer

Under "The friend's welcome offer", choose "Percent off" or "Amount off" and type the value. Then set "Smallest order it applies to" and "Days the offer stays valid".

Thank the guest who invited them

Under "The thanks for the guest who invited them", choose Points, Percent off or Amount off. Points are added to the guest's balance. The other two give a single-use code of their own, valid for 90 days. If the points scheme is off, the page tells you to switch it on or to thank with a code instead.

"Thanks one guest can earn a month" caps the thanks. Friends who order after that still get their offer, but the guest who invited them is not thanked again until next month.

Limits that stop abuse

These apply automatically. A guest cannot invite their own phone or email. A phone or email is invited only once. Someone who has already ordered here is not a new friend. The thanks is refused when the friend pays with a card the guest has used here.

Follow each referral

Below the settings, the Referrals list shows who invited whom, with the columns "Invited by", Friend, Status, Thanks and Invited. A status is "Waiting for a first order", Thanked, "Over the monthly limit" or Refused, and the totals for each sit above the table.
