Settings and activity

Settings is the last link in the menu. It holds what you set up once; what you switch on is in Modules. The log of changes is the Activity card.

Open a section

The Settings page is an index of cards in five groups: Business, Orders and payments, Devices and messages, Connections, and Account. Click a card to open that section on its own page. Every section has its own "Save settings" button, so a mistake in one never blocks another.

What each section holds

  • "General": restaurant name, currency, timezone and whether delivery is on.
  • "Opening hours": when each branch takes orders.
  • "Ordering": the ways to order, the minimum order, how many days ahead a guest may order, and "Closing days".
  • "Pay at the table": tips, service fee and the payment methods.
  • "Card payments with Stripe" and "Gateway keys": how you get paid.
  • "Messages and alerts", "Screen links" and "Thermal printers": guest messages and your phone alerts, the links for kitchen screens and your ticket printers. Press "Rotate" on a screen link and the screens paired with it go blank until you open the new link.
  • "Reporting day": when your business day starts, for example 04:00 if you serve past midnight.
  • Connections: "Integrations", "Installed apps", "API and webhooks" with the gateway keys, and "Bring your data".
  • Account: "Plan and billing", "Data and security", "AI allowance" and "Activity".
  • The booking rules (slot length, notice, "Largest party" and deposits) are on the Setup tab of Reservations, tables on Floor & QR and the team on Team.
  • "Danger zone": "Close this restaurant". Only the owner sees it, and you must type the restaurant name to confirm. Orders and records are kept.

Read the activity log

Under Activity you see who changed what, newest first, in the columns "When", "Action", "Person" and "What changed". Narrow the list with "Action", "Person", "From" and "To", then press "Filter". Changes made by BookNDish support on your account appear here too, so you can always tell who touched a setting.
