Messages and alerts
Everything your restaurant sends is under Settings, "Messages and alerts": the messages guests receive, and the alerts that reach you. Change what you need and press "Save" in the bar at the foot of the page; the phone alert cards save on their own.
Channels
Under "Channels", tick the ways a guest may be reached: "Email", "WhatsApp" and "SMS". The first channel that can reach the guest is used, so put the one you prefer first with "Move up" and "Move down". Untick a channel to never use it. "Sent this month" counts what each channel carried.
Email works from day one. WhatsApp needs your own WhatsApp Business account: its "Access token" and "Phone number ID" are entered on this page and checked with "Check connection". Texts are switched on under Settings, "API and webhooks", with "Send guest messages by SMS"; each text is charged, so SMS stays off until you turn it on.
Your name and what is sent
"Sender name" is shown at the start of every subject; leave it blank to use the restaurant name.
Under "Send a message when", tick the moments a guest is told:
- "An order is ready to collect".
- "A booking is confirmed".
- "A booking is tomorrow (reminder the day before)". It goes once per booking.
"Preview" shows each message in your default language with a sample guest, as it will arrive.
A booking reconfirmation replaces the reminder when you ask guests to reconfirm, and is sent only while the reminder is ticked. "Other messages guests receive" lists the rest, such as the waitlist and review requests, each with "Change" to the page that sets it.
Messages you write yourself, such as a note on a booking or a campaign, go through the same channels. Campaigns reach only guests who agreed to hear from you, as the Campaigns guide explains.
The morning digest
"Morning digest to owners" sends every owner yesterday in numbers by email at eight in the morning, in their own language. Untick it to stop it for every owner of the restaurant.
Alerts on your phone
The same page holds your own phone alerts: "Get alerts on this phone", what to "Send me", and, for owners and managers, the "Alert thresholds" of the whole restaurant. The Home and alerts guide walks through them.
