Ordering rules

The rules for every order a guest places themselves, from a table, for pickup or for delivery, are under Settings, "Ordering". Change what you need, then press "Save" in the bar at the foot of the page.

Ways to order

Under "Order types", tick each way guests may order: "At the table", "Pickup", "Delivery" and, for a hotel, "Room service". Without tables, "At the table" reads "Eat in, ordered at the counter". A way that is unticked is not offered on your guest pages.

Delivery is switched on here, and nowhere else: tick it and its "Delivery fee" and its "Minimum order" appear beside it. "Raise the minimum or the fee for an area" opens the delivery zones, as the Delivery guide explains.

Minimum order

Each way to order has its own minimum: a guest cannot send an order below it. Zero takes any order. Type amounts in your currency, as the guest reads them on the bill.

Straight to the kitchen

The "Straight to the kitchen" card answers one question for every source of orders. "Your online and QR orders" sends an online order straight to the kitchen, as a till order does; leave it off and the order waits on the orders board until someone accepts it. Each connected delivery app has its own switch below it, saved as you flip it.

Preparation time and ordering ahead

"Preparation time (minutes)" is how long an order takes: guests are told when it will be ready, and an order for later reaches the kitchen that long before. "Days ahead a guest may order for" lets guests choose a later day and time at checkout; zero turns scheduling off, so guests order for now only.

Sold out

Under "Marking a dish sold out", tick "Ask for a manager PIN to mark a dish sold out" so that only a manager can take a dish off sale during service. The PIN is set under Settings, "General"; the card warns you when you have none yet.

Pickup slots ahead, for a café, are set per branch under Branches; the "Days ahead a guest may order for" above covers every other order.

Days you are shut

Closing days are no longer an ordering rule: they stop orders and bookings alike, so the "Closures and holidays" card links to them under your opening hours. See Hours and closures.
